I was thinking I should try to get this thing going again. There's not a whole lot going on over here. The kids are getting ready to let out for school.. last day is Friday.
We are talking seriously about moving back to Reno. We just need to do a bit of saving and planning and it doesn't seem like it's going to happen for a least another year. I am dying to go now though. I really miss it there.
I am back on the
Weight Watchers train. I have been for a few months now. I just didn't want to say anything until I knew I would stick with it this time. I never had an issue sticking before but there was just something else going on with me.. I guess I just wasn't ready. But I have been going strong since the end of February and I have lost almost 15 lbs.
I also have a new obsession I'd like to talk about. They are purses, bags, and various accessories. Not jsut any hadbag though.. nope, I like to be special. Courtsey of a thread at DST, I found this wonderful lady named Shelly who makes custom fabric purses, bags, and accessories. I almost immediately made a purchase, which I am pretty sure I posted about here. Well, since then I ordered a matching makeup bag and a key fob. SO cute!

Recently, I got the oppurtunity to help Shelly set up her Zen Cart store,
Pink Punk Boutique.
In exchange, she made me some goodies! She made me a clutch purse and a camera strap for my DSLR. The clutch I will be using when I go to a friend's wedding next month. Ipicked fabric that will match what I am wearing and the camera strap.. well, it's just plain CUTE! She just posted pics of the finished product. I can't wait to get my hands on them.

I'm sitting here plotting my next few purchases because this woman is just so darn talented and I like cute stuff! Yeah I know, I'm easy. I know that I want a tote bag, because I found a fabric that is just SO me that I have to have it on something. And now, I'm being enabled into buying a wallet.. which I actually do need.
But seriously, if you love pretty fabric and purses.. go, scratch that. RUN over to
Shelly's site and register in the store. Tell her I sent you.

No, you didn't miss #1. I didn't post it b/c I wasn't really happy with the final page. It was cute but it really wasn't my style.
However, challenge #2 was much more "me". The challenge was to collaborate on one layout with our partners. We each had to do half of the page. Not just you start and I'll finish but literally divide the page in half, any which way we wanted.
Rachel and I opted for the checkerboard approach. She made a template for us to use and we decided to celebrate large families. I have 5 and Rachel has 4. Once we plopped in our pictures, we merged the pieces and each embellished our halves then combined them together for one final page.
This is what we ended up with: Click for full list of credits.

Today actually went by rather quickly.. Dan had to work today and the kids were off from school so I expected it to be a very long and very loud day. However, that was not entirely the case!
The morning was a little rough, it was raining and the kids had to all stay in the house. The big ones were fighting, the little ones were fighting, then the big ones started fighting with the little ones.. oh it was the picture of a perfect day! My mom came over and we took the little ones to the grocery store while the big ones stayed home and did their chores without little ones around to undo their work.
We stopped at my brother's to drop something off and visit with the girls for a little bit. Then we hit the store. We came back home unloaded everything and I started dinner and cleaned up a bit before Dan got home. My sister in law and I decided to (actually, it was my idea and I wasn't letting her say no) go out for a little one on one girls night. We went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. We had a nice time, talked, ate, had dessert and I think we are both a little bit happier.
I got home around 8 and I started making a little something new for my PPF store next week. I haven't had much computer time today at all.. I was on for a brief bit earlier this afternoon and just as I was getting off my popup blocker went a little wonky so I shut down and now that I'm back home and rebooted it seems to be working fine!
Oh and that little secret, I told y'all about a few weeks ago? Well.. start counting down the days, all will be revealed on Monday, Jan. 28th!!

Wow, I am worn out tonight! I needed a break from the kids tonight so I ran out to Target and Michaels in search of soome craft supplies, namely paper punches. I cannot tell you why because it is a secret but I promise it will be well worth the wait.
I was able to find a couple at Target, believe it or not they had some in the dollar bins! I know, I was floored too. So I got a few there and then I got a more expensive one. Then it was off to Michael's because I needed a larger size punch for my little project. I got a few more there and some other fun crafty items on sale.
I have been sitting on the living room floor for the last 2 hours, punching shapes and putting together my little paper craft items. Another reminder of why I love digital so much. I have so patience for this stuff. I only made like 6 little items in those 2 hours, but they are so cute.
Before digital, I used to make cards and invitations so this is really be being nostalgic and reminiscing. Weddings, Baby Showers, Birth Announcements, you name it I've done it. Then I started doing my invitations online which inevitably lead to digital scrapping, and here I am now.
I still do cards on occasion, I recently got to do my new niece's birth announcement and Christmas and Thank You cards for a friend of mine. It was nice to get back in the game.
